True friends and raising babies

Even though I saw parents manipulating there kids, who they played with at home. My kids were welcome to bring home anyone they like. Although my house had rules. I expected everyone to follow the rules even guests.

Sometimes people weren't invited back, but looking back those that were around for years I am not sure if they were true friends to my kids or myself.

After turning. 40 I quit doing a lot of favors for "friends". Wow was I amazed at how many people really got cut from a weekly conversation. All it took was a sorry cant help today.

Just remember you may never know the real reason why people are hanging around, but time will tell!  I am blessed always had a husband that was there. Even though we lived out of state and he traveled. We worked around things and I believe we have a strong relationship because of depending on each other

stay quiet and let people talk. Sometimes it isn't what they are saying you should hear.

In my younger years I was so anxious to prove my point of view, sometimes I never heard the other person.

As I have grown older and wiser, I have learned to really listen to them appreciating others point of views.  Not to mention something turns on in the brain, I can't explain it....  You hear things differently, whether it is things they like most, dislike most, relationship and always as woman decipher what she is saying (you know her underlying message which really isn't wait she is saying).

I am not good at the decipher, many of my true friends know this, and say exactly what they mean.

From my part of the US it is called honesty.
